1. How do you ship worms to survive transit?
We ship nationwide with USPS 1-3 day priority mail, and FedEx overnight or 2nd day air so your worms will not be in transit very long. We ship worms Monday to Wednesday, Thursday(FedEx overnight only) to ensure delivery before Sunday so they are not left in transit on Sunday. We have a high success rate for worms arriving at their destination alive and well. We 100% guarantee live delivery, so if any problems occur during transit, we will ship replacement worms. Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with any problems, or 1 hour on dead on arrival.
2. How do I store my worms?
Superworms should be kept between 70 and 80 degrees. NEVER refrigerate them. They need to be in bedding of either oats or wheat bran and need a moisture source such as a sliced apple, carrot or potatoes.
3. Do I need to be home when my package arrives?
It is best to be home when package arrives however, you don’t need to be there. We can have the package held at Post Office if you want. It is recommend that you be home or have them shipped to your work as they are live animals. You can leave delivery instructions before placing your order.

I recently had an awful experience from Rainbow worms outta of CA (They arrived about 90% were dead and the Awful stink made hubby puke! It was BAD! I pAid $33 for fedex overnight and they left the worms in the HOT truck! I felt bad for the worms. Shipped with no food or damp paper for water. Horrible!).

I previously bought super worms in stores such as pet smart, but was forced to look online because there seems to be a super worm shortage. I should have switched a long time ago! These worms will cost you SO much less, even after shipping, and they seem to be much healthier than the ones from retail stores. There is no bad smell, and every last one was alive upon delivery! Even my leapord gecko, who was previously a poor eater, seems to like these better and eats all of these that I give him her! My only change to my order next time, is I may go with the large instead of medium worms next time, as I estimated their size poorly. They are growing though, sustained easily and cheaply on a diet of oats and apple slices. You won’t be disappointed!!!

The worms arrived pretty fast considering how things have been moving and the lack of abundance of super worms from many sources. They were much smaller than what I am used to getting though. I attached a picture of a couple of the worms that I received next to a super worm from my most recent batch. They seemed to be growing well in oats and I just moved them into some chick starter so hopefully they bulk up pretty fast.

Even though Delivery Methods are expensive, if you buy enough in bulk its still half to a third of the price of pet stores. you can’t be guaranteed the count in the boxes of worms in the pet stores. i feel as though Sunshine errs on the side of giving you more rather than less. this is a great source of comfort to me!!

Prior to purchasing from Sunshine State Worms, I was getting my worms in bulk from a local supplier. I just wish that the paper they come with was smaller since it’s really hard to knock them all off into their container without having a bunch of them land on the floor (though my bearded dragon was very appreciative).

I think this company is better then the depot company I deal with around my town I would say what I don’t like is they don’t have a coupon or rewards for loyal customers . I think that would help tremendously and I sometimes think the shipping cost is a little to high. Maybe a percentage or dollars off the orders depending on how much you buy but other than that this is a great company.

Great experience. Easy to go through the website and get the worms. The heat was too warm here in Missouri. The company did well to email me and let me know about the dangerous heat and gave me the choice. I already had it for post office pickup and chose to delay it until the heat would cool down a bit. about a week later I got the shipping email. Good experience. I will purchase more in the future.
